We are delighted to announce that Julian Hatt will be speaking at this year’s BASDA Summit in our session on ‘Making Tax Digital’.
In his role as Head of Stakeholder Engagement HMRC: Making Tax Digital for Business Programme, Julian will discuss the latest developments on MTD with BASDA members at the Summit event on 17th May at BMA House in London.
About Julian Hatt:
Since qualifying as a Fully Trained [FT] Inspector in Inland Revenue in 1992, Julian has enjoyed a variety of regional and head office roles in the vanguard of transformational change.
Following his leadership of the implementation of Self Assessment in the Revenue’s SW region, Julian designed and delivered the department’s response to a 1998 Budget starter: the New Enterprise Support Initiative, which introduced a bespoke helpline for new employers and the flagship Business Support Teams.
He’s spent most of this millennium at the forefront of HMRC’s digital developments, including the introduction of iXBRL for company accounts – where Julian’s strong links with the software industry were forged.
Julian works very closely with external customers, stakeholders and their representative organisations to ensure ‘the voice of the business customer’ is brought back in to HMRC to help shape the design and content of digital services.
